SDE subsidy for projects on weak roofs

“Starting from September 10, 2024, a new subsidy round for SDE++ has been opened, with a special focus on lighter solar panels for weaker roofs. This approach makes previously unsuitable roofs viable for solar energy, which contributes to a greener future. In a letter dated March 1, 2024, Minister Jetten of Climate and Energy provided information about the 2024 SDE++ round . In this letter, the Minister also mentioned the opening for PV solar on weak roofs.

We can address this issue from multiple angles. For instance, we can offer a solution by strengthening the structure with our sister company Kampstaal or provide a less invasive solution: a support structure for solar panels that we can provide together with our partner.

Peak shaving with a battery

One way that your business can benefit from peak shaving is to use a battery to store energy during times of low demand and then use that stored energy during times of higher demand. Doing this helps to lower demand for expensive peak power and helps you to avoid disruption to your operations.

Time shifting

When there’s no need for energy at a given time, it can be stored by the battery. This is known as time shifting, and allows the energy to be stored for later use. The battery system allows the energy generated during the day to be used at night, perhaps to charge a fleet of company cars. This can save your business a considerable amount of money.
